Captured @The DUT ARTS & DESIGN DIGITAL FESTIVAL...

The DUT DIGITAL FESTIVAL took place on Saturday, September the 12th. I know this is a late post but I've been quite busy since that weekend as I was in Cape Town for the SA Innovation Summit from the 16th till the 18th. OH MY WORD, best 3days of my life!! Had so much fun, really wish I stayed a bit longer but life had to go on. Even though the weather was bad, I still enjoyed my stay in the mother city and I definitely wouldn't mind relocating there. I'm so glad we got to do a lil shopping @ACCESS PARK where all the factory shops for the big brands are, so u can imagine the excitement.. I made sure to shop till I drop, it was amazing!!

 Back toThe DUT ARTS AND DESIGN DIGITAL FESTIVAL...it was so inspiring, there were all kinds of artistic and creative people. From Graphic Designers to poets, rappers, painters and fashion designers. People had lil pop up stalls showcasing their craft and talents. There was also a mini fashion show towards the end of the day. The Redbull team managed to keep us entertained with DJ fihso on the decks and the DUT DRAMA students also kept us entertained with a short play which was very fun to watch.
A journalism student was doing a review article about the festival and he asked me what design means to me. This wasn't a tricky question  since I'm a Clothing Technology student, we focus a lot on design. To me design is the birth of a new life, it is originality with inspiration and passion. Design to me is revolutionary.

FRONT ROW SEATS, GLITS AND ALL THE GLAM #DFF2014

I know I've done two posts about the DFF already but I just cant get over it. It was such an amazing experience, sitting right next to Bonang and taking a picture with her has to be the highlight of my evening thou, never thought that day would come into my life so soon hahaha {star struck much}
 Thanks to my mate Kodi, I was able to attend the Palse show and all the other shows for the rest of the evening, I only had a ticket for the emerging designer show but Kodi got me the crew tag, perks
of knowing people who know people I tell u {tongue out}.. my other mate, Simo was so in love with my coat on the other hand he literally had it on for almost the whole evening which was rather awkward , especially since its a ladies coat.. It's a nice coat thou, and it does have that manly look to it so I can't  really blame him.. We bumped into so many celebs, felt like I was in SA FASHION WEEK or something. LOL anywho DFF 2014 WAS AMAZING!! J

DURBAN FASHION FAIR {ESTABLISHED DESIGNERS}

The Palse show was soo elegant. Each and every piece was so beautifully made, so much class and chic. I liked the use of different textures, the fabric contrast in some of his designs and the whole Asian look on his female models was really cool.  I must say, he chose his models very well, especially his male models... I'm pretty sure they left every other female in the audience drooling. The grand entrance made by Donald was quite interesting to watch as well. Great show Palse!

The beauty and elegance of Zarth was soo incredibly inspiring.. I loved each and every piece in her collection, super amazing fabric choice, the use of neon colours gave us that spring summer vibe. It was a really nice collection, I cant even find the right words to explain the beauty of this collection and the fact that she catered for both slim and fully figured women made it even more beautiful. Zama is too gifted!!

DURBAN FASHION FAIR 2014..{EMERGING DESIGNERS}

The 2014 Durban Fashion Fair took place at the Durban International Convention Centre from Thursday the 21st till Sunday the 24th. I attended the fair on Saturday where the emerging designers were showcasing. I also went to all the other shows that took place on Saturday evening till the Zarth show, which was phenomenal!

Kwenzi's collection was one of my faves, I love the African prints she used on her designs.. As we all know African prints are indeed very trendy this year and the combination of culture and fashion is quite nice. I absolutely love this technique!

Yolandie Wessels is one of the top 10 finalists chosen for the emerging designer's internship in Milan!! This is such an amazing opportunity, I'm sure every designer out there would be very grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Above are the top 10 chosen emerging designers with their models. The eThekwini councillor for Economic Development and the gorgeous Miss Bonang Matheba were announcing the 10 chosen designers out of the 24 who showcased their collections at this year's Durban Fashion Fair. I'm so proud of our Clothing Management post graduate, Ngcebo Mnyandu aka Lilo for being one of the 10 emerging designers going to Milan, go do your thing brother!
